The Journal of L.M. Montgomery Studies publishes original content only. Content cannot have been previously published elsewhere in whole or in part, nor can an agreement to publish be outstanding (except in special circumstances in consultation with the editor-in-chief and the consulting editors or collection editors, as appropriate). The journal publishes contributions that contain no matter that is defamatory or is otherwise unlawful or that invades the privacy or infringes any proprietary right or any statutory copyright. Should the contribution contain material that requires written permission for inclusion in the contribution, such permission shall be obtained at the contributor’s own expense from the copyright owner and submitted for review to the editors of the Journal of L.M. Montgomery Studies. For more information, see the journal’s Open Access and Copyright statement.

Two rigorous review processes are in place at the Journal of L.M. Montgomery Studies to ensure academic integrity and the highest scholarly standards.

The journal acknowledges the exciting possibilities raised by generative artificial intelligence (GAI) tools such as ChatGPT. At this time, however, the journal cannot accept submissions created (whether in whole or in part) by GAI tools, due to significant—and, as yet, unaddressed—problems of ethics, security, etc., inherent in the use of this technology.

For more information, see the journal’s Editorial and Peer Review statement.

For intellectual property concerns related to the journal, please contact the editor-in-chief (EIC), Dr. Kate Scarth (kscarth@upei.ca). Concerns about the journal’s process for addressing intellectual property concerns can be forwarded in the first instance to the IP Subcommittee Chair (to be appointed), then the EIC, who may consult with the LMMI Steering Committee Chair.
